As well as connecting with other crafters and joining a few craft communities I have connected with some really inspirational people and surprisingly, I have connected with quite a few up and coming Authors/Poets and have re-discovered my love of reading. I am in awe of people who write and I sometimes find myself wanting to get inside the mind of a writer.
I joined another community called "Creative Talent" run by Jed Lloyd and I have contributed to the The Creative Talent Community Blog also run by Jed it is a fun and interesting community where you can showcase anything from poetry, art to paper-crafting and much more. Thank you Jed.
I had a lovely surprise and I was awarded a "Super Sweet Blogger Award by Vashti Quiroz-Vega Author of The Basement - Thank you Vashti.
My Review of "The Basement" so far
A story that talks about and emphasizes the emotive subject of bullying. There are some fun aspects too, it shows bullying can come from all walks. I have not quite finished it yet but the writer Vashti Quiroz-Vega is very promising, I look forward to reading more of her work.
A first for me, I have been interviewed by Dyane Forde the Author of The Purple Morrow which is part of her papilion fantasy trilogy, I have seen some great reviews and I am really looking forward to reading it and I have just purchased the Kindle version! You can read the interview here thank you Dyane.
I have also joined a private community called "Shaken" run by kerry Connelly I had the pleasure of reading her book Shaken before its release and reviewing it. I have attached my review below it is definitely well worth a read. Thank you Kerry.
My Review of "Shaken"
'Upon my first reading of 'Shaken' I wondered how it was going to be presented, my thoughts were how much of it would be a self help book? or would there be a story? Well it is both I am pleased to say, at times difficult to read; I found that it set off a few triggers for me but it helps that it is written in a very intelligent clear and precise way. This is a revealing brave story of one Woman's journey (without giving too much away) from hitting rock bottom to finding a way to becoming herself again. It also highlights the importance of your inner voice or sixth sense. I had tears in my eyes for most of the book.
'Shaken forced me to visit a dark time in my life at the start of the book, by the end of the book it reminded me that I am now in a much better place. I think it is the fact I emphasized with the Author and I would describe it as an emotional roller coaster ride'
A real page turner that will stay with me for a very long time'.
